November. They sign with Decca Deram and Denny Cordell becomes their producer.

6 April. "I Can Hear the Grass Grow" / "Wave the Flag and Stop the Train" [Deram DM 117; charts, reaches UK#5]

Alexandra Palace, London
29 April. Appearance at 14-hour Technicolour Dream (multi-media event) in London at the Alexandra Palace. One of the most important events in London psychedelic culture of the late sixties, this event, almost more than any other, defined the style of British counter culture. The Move, Pink Floyd, the Creation and others appeared at this concert-happening marking the publication of the International Times, a counter-cultural newspaper which carried articles and advertising about drugs, sex, and rock and roll.
6 September. "Flowers in the Rain" / "(Here We Go Round) The Lemon Tree" [Regal Zonophone RZ 3001; charts, UK#2]
December. The Move tour the UK with Jimi Hendrix experience, Pink Floyd, and Nice. Unfortunately, Ace Kefford is sometimes too drugged to appear and they need to replaced him.

1968
January? "Cherry Blossom Clinic" / "Vote for Me" (unissued)
7 February. "Fire Brigade" / "Walk upon the Water" [Regal Zonophone RZ 3005; charts, UK#3 March]
March. The Move [UKLP, Regal Zonophone (s) LRZ 1002; UK #15]
——. The band finally tires of Ace Kefford's behavior and stop picking him up for gigs, eventually evicting him from the group. Trevor Burton takes up bass as Richard Tandy comes in to play keyboards.
July. "Wild Tiger Woman" / "Omnibus" [Regal Zonophone RZ 3012]
25 December. "Blackberry Way" / "Something" [Regal Zonophone RZ 3015; charts, UK#1 in January 1969]

1969
January. Rick Price (b. 10 June 1944) arrives to play bass after Trevor Burton leaves on the eve of an American tour. Tandy leaves shortly afterwards.
August. "Curly" / "This Time Tomorrow" [Regal Zonophone RZ 3021; UK #12]
Their American tour was a small disaster, while returning to play the circuit in the UK was a great disappointment. After a few more releases and personnel changes (including the addition of Jeff Lynne [b. 30 December 1947]), the band folded, making way for the Wood-led Electric Light Orchestra in the seventies.
