Green, Fleetwood, and McVie function as John Mayall's Bluesbreakers; but Green has aspirations other than being in Mayall's backing band. |

13 August. Green and Fleetwood, with guitarist Jeremy Spencer and bassist Bob Brunning premiered a new band called Fleetwood Mac (combining Mick Fleetwood and hoping that John McVie would join them). |
The band signs with blues label, Blue Horizon. |

The band would travel to the US where they would record at Chess Records with some of their blues idols. |
The band begins to look for a new label with wider distribution and initially signs with Oldham's Immediate Records; but Oldham fails to make an impression and the band resigns with Warner Brothers. Thereafter, they undergo numberous personnel changes leaving only Fleetwood and McVie as the only original members in the band. |
