1968
22 January. The Beatles establish Apple Corps. to handle their creative output, but also to reinvest their income to protect it from taxes. They also sought to protect their material from Robert Stigwood, who had joined in a partnership with Brian Epstein. On this day, they open their offices at 95 Wigmore Street, Marylebone, London, 4th floor.
15 February. The Beatles begin leaving London for Rishikesh, India to participate in a spiritual retreat with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. In the conclusion of this retreat, they return with a large number of songs to record.
15 March. "Lady Madonna" / "The Inner Light" (Parlophone R 5675)
12 May. John and Paul hold the first board meeting of Apple Corps, in a Chinese junk sailing around New York's Statue of Liberty.
23 August. Cynthia Lennon announces she has filed for divorce from John on the grounds of adultery.

September. Ringo briefly leaves the Beatles

2 January. The Beatles begin filming/recording at Twickenham Studios, London. Glyn Johns begins working as their recording engineer.
10 January. George Harrison briefly leaves the Beatles
16 January. Filming at Twickenham ends.
17 January. Yellow Submarine film debut
22 January. Beatles begin filming and recording at Apple Headquarters, 3 Saville Row
30 January. Beatles perform on the room of Apple Headquarters.
3 February. Allan Klein appointed Apple business advisor.
12 March. Paul McCartney marries Linda Eastman.
