d. 15 September 2013, near Liverpool

1962-1965
Lomax began his music career playing in one of Liverpool's best-known local bands, the Undertakers, who dressed in long black suits and top hats. They signed with Pye and released four records, none of which fared well on British charts.

1965
Taking advantage of a change in immigration law, the band moved to the United States where they attempted unsuccessfully to make a name for themselves. Lomax continued to perform in bands and as a headliner, without much great success.

1967
With the Beatles withdrawing from touring, Brian Epstein brought Lomax and his band (the Lomax Alliance) to London where he had them play in the Saville Theatre, which he had purchased and which was the venue for concerts between plays. With Epstein's death that summer, however, Lomax seemed back where he had started.

1968
With the formation by the Beatles of Apple Records, George Harrison chose Lomax as his first major attempt at being a producer.
