"Sha La La" (Mosley & Taylor) [2:30] |
|
The follow up to "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" was another cover of a Tin Pan Alley tune, this time one performed by perennial Beatles' favorites, the Shirelles. The song had not been a hit for the Shirelles and thus maintained some freshness, although it's origins are telling. |

Sha la la la la la la | a |
I
met you the first time last night, When I kissed you and I held you tight. Baby you made me feel alright, So this is the song that I sang all night. |
b |
When
you kissed me I felt so weak, I never had so grand a treat, Each time I see you walkin' down the street, My heart starts singin' to the Sha la beat, singin' . . . |
c |
Sha
la la, say you love me do, Sha la la, my love is true. Let's spend our lives together. We'll be happy forever. |
