"All My Loving" (Lennon, McCartney)
Performed by the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show (CBS) on 9 February 1964.

The Beatles opened their musical assault on America with this deceptively simple song. Among the notable aspects of this performance are McCartney's bass line (which breaks away from simple chord supporting roots to a linear "walk"), Harrison's Carl-Perkins-style guitar solo, and Lennon's rapidly strummed triplets. The rhythm of the song is almost a jazz swing, which helped make it a favorite of jazz artists. Of course, few in the theater this night heard many details of the performance.

Text
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you; tomorrow I'll miss you; Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away I'll write home every day, And I'll send all my lovin' to you.
a
I'll pretend that I'm kissing the lips I am missing, And hope that my dreams will come true.
And then while I'm away . . . .
b
All my lovin' I will send to you; all my lovin', darlin' I'll be true. c
