Rāga Mālkauṅs
Bhatkhande (1967, 3:701) gives madhyama as the vādi and ṣaḍaj as the samvādi and the ideal time of performance as the third quarter of the night. He describes the home ṭhāṭ of this rāga as Bhairavi, although he acknowledges that some assign it to Asavari ṭhāṭ. The confusion is do to the omission of ṛiṣabh and pañcam in this rāga. He indicates that ṛiṣabh should be treated as the vivādi of rāga Mālkauṅs.
