Notes and Quotes: "Ain't Got You"

Based on Jimmy Reed's "I Ain't Got You."

This was the b-side of the Yardbird's third release ("Good Morning Little Girl") but it clearly shows the guitar domination of their sound and is a nice example of Clapton's early blues style. "I Ain't Got You" was a standard for many British blues bands of the era, probably because of the exoticism of American life depicted in the song. (Sure, most Americans do not drive cars with snake-skin upholstery, but then the Brits didn't seem to know that.)
