Notes and Quotes: "All Your Love"

This recording is perhaps one of the most important recordings in 1960s British blues. Clapton's combination of his Gibson Les Paul with a new Marshall 45 watt 2x12 combo Model Number 1962 playing at club volume in the studio produced a sound that the engineers found perplexing.

Dudgeon: " . . . the guitar was all over everything, it was on every single microphone, it was everywhere. But it was bloody exciting and we were all going, 'Christ, I've never heard a sound like that on a record ever'" (Shapiro in Mojo 1998:91).
