After her Welsh singer-mother trains her, Petula Clark begins her career as a performer.
 
1941   [Age 8-9]
She makes her first broadcast appearance.
 
1943   [Age 10-11]
She has her own program on the BBC which emphasizes morale during these bleak war years. The songs are optimistic and positive (a trait that will continue throughout most of her career).
 
1944   [Age 11-12]
She appears in her first film and signs with the J. Arthur Rank Organization, making 20 feature films
