| Two musical characteristics dominate this recording: the slinky doubled guitar sound and the primal on-the-beat drumming. The former is a consequence of Meek's production style of repeated dubbing and over-dubbing as well as his experiments with electronics. The latter is most likely an imitation of the simple beats of the Dave Clark Five's hit recordings from the previous months. (The Honeycombs would have made this recording in the spring of 1964.) |
